In This Edition: Cleaning up Coal / Industry and the Water Challenge
Segment One: Hawk Hogan, Chief Engineer, Global Resource Corp.
Current estimates suggest that by the year 2030 five trillion dollars will have been spent in carbon dioxide emissions reductions globally, while at the same time coal demand will have risen by 60 per cent. Needless to say, burning coal is one of the major contributors to carbon dioxide, but Global Resource Corp. claims it’s developing proprietary clean coal technology that has major implications for the oil sector.
Segment Two: Rick Ross, Executive Director, Canadian Water Resource Association (CWRA)

CWRA executive director Rick Ross says there is definitely a change in the amount of water available in the province at differing times of the year. However, he also adds that the oilpatch and industry in Alberta are aware of the situation and are adjusting in a positive way – because it makes economic sense.
